Last second hero saves UofL soccer in rivalry

High levels of adrenaline, competitive and activity between two heated rivals in the first 45 minutes.  Typical of the rivalry in a men’s soccer match between the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky. But no scoring, all for naught, the beginning of a long night.

Kentucky appeared on the verge claiming its first win over the Cardinals in three years until the 89th minute. That was when Ryan Quintos, a junior defender from Wisconsin, was punch a header into the net, tying the score 2-2. Scoring off a corner from Leon Kondic.

Not a win for the Cardinals, but not a loss to the Wildcats. Much to be said for saving face in the heated rivalry in all sports.

Louisville scored the first goal of the game early in the second half, a goal by freshman Nicholas Parham.  But UK tied the game in the 64th minute with a goal from Alex Tuitz   Four minutes later, the Wildcats went up 2-1 with a goal from Isaiah Chisolm.

UofL is now 5-2-1 overall, and 1-2-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
