Sunday was a Big Game day for Brad Schmidt and his son Kaiden from Jasper, Indiana. To say they are avid University of Louisville fans would be an major understatement. They are fully committed, diehard fans who live and breath UofL sports.

They are also fashion conscious when it to showing their support, whether it be Jim Patterson, L&N Cardinal Stadium or the KFC Yum! Center. The Schmidts ordered special University of Louisville shirts last fall, wearing them to all the big games in all sports.

They weren’t surprised when the Louisville baseball team beat Miami 3-2 to earn the program’s sixth trip to the College World Series.

“We wear these to the all of big games,” said Brad on Sunday, long before the game had been decided. “We have never lost when we are wearing these shirts we expect UofL to win today.”

They ordered the shirts off the Internet last fall and broke them in at the UofL-Clemson football game at Clemson. That day Louisville claimed its first-ever win over the Tigers. “We also wore them against Kentucky in football and against Virginia in basketball. We have a perfect record in these shirts.”

On a personal notes, the Observer has learned he may be getting at least one of these lucky shirts for Father’s day.
