Sorry Georgia Tech but you’re not going to turn your volleyball season around in Louisville. The 19th ranked Yellow Jackets, losers in their last three conference matches, had flashes of goodness but not nearly enough. They would bow to fourth-ranked UofL in three sets 25-20, 25-16 and 27-25.

Always a dangerous foe, Georgia Tech appeared on the verge of winning the third set after mounting a 20-14 lead. But the Cardinals would reel off six straight points to tie the set at 20-20. Back and forth, up and down, UofL ahead for keeps, with Anna DeBeer’s 11th and 12th kills of the match winning the set and the outcome.

The series sweep was the fourth straight for the Cardinals, giving them a 4-0 conference record and and an overall mark of 10-1 for the season.

Charitie Luper and DeBeer led Louisville with 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Hannah Sherman was a force defensively, contributing eight of Louisville’s 13 total blocks. Nayelis Cabella recorded 22 assists while Elena Scott had 14 digs in the match.
