UofLCardGame is a fan site dedicated to University of Louisville athletics which was launched in 2007 by Charlie Springer, a former Courier-Journal & Louisville Times sportswriter. He also served as Managing Editor of Louisville Magazine and Public Information Officer for the Louisville Area Chamber of Commerce. From there he joined the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation as Internal Communications Manager. Shortly after retiring from B&W in 1996, he formed CSWorks, LLC, a corporate affairs company and was a consultant to the National Association of Retail Outlets.
Springer’s first love after his wife is the University of Louisville, as an academic institution and as a source of athletic pride, having earned a Master’s degree in Community Development from the university. He makes no excuses for being a unabashed advocate for the school but doesn’t hesitate to offer constructive criticism on an ongoing basis. The primary purpose of UofLCardGame is provide perspectives on the University that are often missing in the legacy media and elsewhere.
