The Brad Schmidt family in Jasper, Indiana is a baseball family. When they are not watching UofL baseball in the College World Series, they are tightly focused on the Jasper High School team in the Indiana State Tournament.

Kaiden, along with his dad Brad and some teammates, were in Louisville last weekend watching the Cardinals win the Super Regional. That was just a couple of days after his Jasper High School teammate won a semi-state title. A no-hitter by the way, Kaiden was the starting catcher calling the signals.

This coming Friday evening at 8 p.m., Jasper will be competing for the 3A Indiana state championship. They will be playing against Andrea, a perennial power located near Merrillville close to Chicago.  Andrea has won eight state titles, Jasper has won six of them. The game will be broadcast on radio station WITZ in Jasper.

Brad and three other dads played for Coach Kelly Gobert in early nineties. He still coaching at Jasper 30 years later.

In the meantime, they are keeping their fingers crossed for UofL baseball. The have never lost while wearing their special Louisville garb.
